Eric Doolin, LGBTQ+ Oregon and destination wedding photographer capturing dreamy, editorial imagery rich in color and mood.

The Man Behind the Lens

I’m Eric Doolin, a Portland, Oregon–based wedding and engagement photographer specializing in fine art, editorial-style imagery for modern couples. With over a decade of experience, I capture weddings on both digital and 35mm film to create romantic, timeless photographs that honor each couple’s unique story. I also offer cinematic wedding videography for those who want to relive their celebration through motion and sound. Whether your day unfolds in Oregon’s lush forests or along a sun-drenched coast, I’m here to tell your story with artistry, emotion, and authenticity.

From a very young age, art was a means of communication and self expression. Sketching and painting were the first two mediums I started out using, which allowed me to master composition and lighting. I was later introduced to photography by my Grandpa, who gave me his old film camera. I went on to attend Brooks Institute where I earn my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2013.

Capturing moments in wedding photography and fine art portraiture holds a timeless significance, their emotional resonance enduring across generations, unlike fleeting fashion trends. The longevity and emotional depth of these images inspire my passion, as I strive to preserve cherished memories that last lifetimes, imbued with heartfelt meaning.

  • Although I love seeing the rush of emotions during a "first look", the sunset photos take the crown for favorite moment to capture. By this time, clients are relaxed now that the ceremony is over and feel at ease in front of the camera.

  • I identify as an introvert. You could say I enjoy being a "fly on the wall" when it comes to shooting weddings. This photojournalism approach allows me to capture a wide range of moments, scaling from quiet and tender, to loud and energetic, without disrupting the authenticity of the moment.

  • Over the years, I have worked with a handful of impactful individuals/brands and have received meaningful accolades for my photography work. In 2014, Lady Gaga shared one of my fine art portraits on her Facebook page to help promote her jazz album ‘Cheek To Cheek’. I received a signed lyric sheet from Gaga and Tony Bennett. In 2019, I photographed the album cover for AWOLNATION’s fourth studio album ‘Angel Miners & the Lightning Riders’. In 2025, I was featured in British Vogue three times. They highlighted various wedding vendors across the globe and showcased three different weddings I photographed. You can view the features in their April, May, and June issues.

  • Without a doubt, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. Family and friends may be surprised at this answer because, if you know me, l'm a huge Lady Gaga fan. I have to give props where it's due though!

  • Paris, France. I was fortunate enough to live in Paris for several months, and it stole my heart. Every street corner is a picture waiting to be captured. It's truly a photographer's playground.

  • Oat milk vanilla latte.

Honoring Love in All Its Forms

Representation is powerful — it tells us that our love belongs. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I strive to celebrate every form of love and identity through my work. Queer stories deserve to be seen, shared, and remembered with the same beauty and reverence that straight couples have long been afforded.

Too often, our community has been erased from the visual narrative of love. My goal is to change that — to create inclusive wedding photography that honors your story and helps reshape the visual narrative of love. Whether you’re planning an Oregon wedding, an intimate elopement, or a destination celebration, I want every image to reflect authenticity, beauty, and belonging.

I hold space for everyone, without judgment or bias. Love is love, and it’s always welcome here.
