A Redwood Romance: Aaron & Kuba’s Intimate Elopement in Eureka, CA
Aaron and Kuba’s elopement in Eureka, California was nothing short of magical. As professional dancers, their day unfolded with grace, rhythm, and an undeniable sense of intimacy and artistry.
We began at the Eagle House, a charming, Victorian-inspired hotel that felt like stepping into a dream. The couple got ready in one of the hotel’s most striking rooms, and we captured portraits that ranged from romantic to playful—including some cheeky shots in a bold red bathtub adorned with a gold swan faucet. But the real show-stopper? Aaron and Kuba sharing a spontaneous dance in one of the grand hotel ballrooms. With no music playing, only their connection and quiet steps filling the space, it was clear that dance is one of their deepest love languages. Watching them move—without speaking, just feeling—was an unforgettable highlight of the day.
Their ceremony took place at the Sequoia Park Zoo, specifically at the breathtaking Redwood Sky Walk. Before we made our way to the canopy-level walkway 100 feet above the forest floor, the zookeepers gave Aaron and Kuba a chance to feed the otters—a delightfully unique and joyful prelude to their vows.
Surrounded only by their two best friends (also dancers), Aaron and Kuba exchanged tearful, personal vows as rain gently fell around us. The forest stood tall and still as if bearing witness to their love. The entire day felt like a carefully choreographed piece—full of movement, meaning, and magic.
This elopement was a beautiful reminder that love, like dance, is often most powerful in its quietest moments.
