IVY & ASTER - WINTER SOLSTICE

In honor of the winter holiday season, I teamed up with Ivy & Aster and Melissa Tomfohrde to create a fairytale bridal editorial. The photoshoot took place in Minneapolis, MN so that we could photograph the gown in the snow. Unfortunately, it was -20 degrees outside when we took these photos. It was so cold that my camera shutter started freezing, and my team and I had to take breaks in my car to warm up and try again. My model, Abby Ashbacher, was such a trooper. With no warm clothes on underneath the gown, she faced harsh elements in order to create art. I’m so appreciative of her hard work - the photos came out spectacular!

Ivy & Aster has so many unique pieces throughout their collection. Experimenting with color, shape, and patterns, Ivy & Aster offers brides a variety of choices that will make them stand out on their wedding day. “We are designing dresses that create the story of your wedding day. You shouldn‘t just buy a dress, you should get lost in an experience that feels like a dream.”

GREEN WEDDING SHOES FEATURE

This summer I collaborated on an engagement party editorial alongside Elevated Room Events and The Art Group LA. The culmination of each vendor's artistry resulted in what we would like to call "Playing With Color: Modern Art With Orange + Blue". I’m so pleased to announce that the story has been featured on Green Wedding Shoes.

We decided to shoot at The Little Play Society, a brand new indoor children's playground and event space located in the heart of Los Angeles. The venue is highly customizable and allowed us to transform the bright and playful space into a more sophisticated and elevated room. The skylights and natural window light painted a clean and crisp canvas for us to start building on top of. The overall color palette for which we decided to go with was white, blue, and orange. Contrasting yet complementary colors. In order to keep the modern aesthetic, we gravitated toward minimalistic details. Our colors were meant to be used as accents to the stark white, a way to draw the viewers eyes to something deliberate.

We hope that our vision sparks inspiration for anyone planning a special event, and our photos can live on your Pinterest boards as reference for your next creative endeavor!
