As the year winds down, I’ve been spending my time taking family/maternity sessions. Fernando and Lauren have been close friends of mine for a few years now, so I was absolutely delighted when Lauren asked if I would take some maternity photos. These two are expecting twin girls in Q1 of 2021; I couldn’t be happier for the them!

Lauren expressed her desire to have a seamless setup in a forested area. This Fall-colored tree was the perfect spot for the photo shoot. What I loved most about this session was that Fernando and Lauren were very comfortable in trying out edgy poses. I would be snapping away and Lauren would tip her hat downward. “HOLD THAT!” I shouted out in excitement. There was a sense of creative camaraderie the entire session. It was so much fun, and I love how the photos turned out.

Dustin and Rachel Honig were wed in September of 2020. They originally had a venue booked, but due to COVID, were forced into a backyard wedding. Their original contract included rehearsal dinner coverage. Once they made the decision to host a backyard wedding, we added my bridal session package in lieu of the rehearsal dinner coverage (both listed at $500).

What is a bridal session? This unique package gives couples the freedom to go wild in their wedding attire for more gorgeous images to cherish. This session can take place before or after the wedding. Sessions last for about an hour, includes one photographer, with the final images being delivered through an online gallery. Normally my bridal sessions include one look (outfit), but I threw in an extra look for Dustin and Rachel because they had such positive attitudes throughout their wedding planning.

The three of us drove down to Joshua Tree and had the most magical, wanderlust session. Rachel’s wild, red curls gave me Julia Roberts “Runaway Bride” vibes, and I was LIVING for it. They had no qualms climbing on top of large boulders, or running through the tall, desert grass. Truly exceptional people inside and out.
