Engagement Session at Latourell Falls - Alex & Jess

There are few spots that capture the heart of the Pacific Northwest quite like Latourell Falls. Nestled in the Columbia River Gorge, it’s one of my favorite places for engagement sessions. Between the lush greenery, winding forest trails, and the epic cascade of the waterfall itself, it offers a range of backdrops that feel both cinematic and authentically Oregon.

Alex and Jess were total troopers during our shoot—braving the wind and mist from the falls with nothing but smiles and laughter. We kicked things off with some romantic moments near the base of the waterfall, and they even stepped right up to the spray for some dramatic, windswept shots that felt straight out of a movie.

I was also excited to test out a new addition to my gear kit—a tilt shift filter that adds a soft, dreamy blur to the edges of an image. It’s a subtle effect, but one that really plays into the romantic, moody style I love to bring to my work. And while the atmosphere of the photos might be dreamy, the connection between Alex and Jess is crystal clear. These two are so in love, and it was adorable watching them laugh, nuzzle, and just enjoy being together.

They’re tying the knot later this year, and I already know their wedding day is going to be just as full of joy and love. I can’t wait to be there capturing it all.
